Charitable giving

The Cayman Kai Community Partners Fund  was established in 2021 with a view of supporting charitable giving in the North Side District on behalf of the Association.

Under the Chairmanship of Jennifer Reynolds, and supported by Annie Mae Roffey and Ellen Schwartz, the CKCPF has an annual budget set by the board and is tasked with making recommendations to the board in respect of deserving  causes in the North Side community.

The donation of the $2300 in gift cards was made to the North Side Food Pantry which is located in the NS Civic Centre, providing food for those in need; which has become even more significant as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The CKCPF was able to provide a new door for the home of a senior citizen in North Side, who was referred to us through the local charity Acts of Random Kindness (ARK).

The  CKCPF  donated $1000 to the Jubilate program in North Side Schools. More details of this program are shown below in a message from the Jubilate organiser, Gillian Smith. Individual members may wish  to contribute or assist.

STORM GRACE

Following Storm Grace, the Kaibo Public Beach was badly damaged, which made it unsafe and unusable by local families. CKPOA invited its members to contribute to a special fund which enabled us to hire a contractor to bring the Public Beach back to its former condition within a few weeks of the storm. The special fund exceeded the cost of the work on the Public Beach enabling us to present a check to The Botanic Park, which had also been damaged by the storm, as a contribution  towards its reparation work.

CKPOA through its Community Partners Fund is working to improve the lives of North Side residents and the community as a whole.
